Improving Grass Pitches

Modified on Mon, 11 Sep 2023 at 03:48 PM

Clubs, leagues and facility providers can access the Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund to improve the quality of pitches used by grassroots and community clubs, to increase the number of training and match play hours and decrease the number of fixture cancellations.

Each pitch is assessed using pictures, grass and soil measurements and information on maintenance schedules. The information is then uploaded to PitchPower which is then reviewed by the experts at the Grounds Management Association, who will rate the each pitch as either Advanced, Good, Basic or Poor. They will then produce a report, advising maintenance and renovation works to improve the pitch. The recommendations are funded by the Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund, which can up to £3,200 per pitch.

To provide an accurate report, we would need some information on the maintenance schedule and budget. I can send a follow-up email on this if the club is interested in the above.

We are able to offer support to sites with 4 or more pitches onsite via our Support Pitch Advisor who is able to assist with completing PitchPower assessments. To request a visit from our Support Pitch Advisor, please complete our Expression Of Interest Form.
