Removing a Club or Team from a League

Modified on Fri, 29 Sep 2023 at 11:47 AM

A Club or Team can only be removed from a League by a vote of the League members at an AGM or SGM.

Any vote must be supported by more than two thirds of those present and voting and must be conducted by ballot (not a show of hands).

The Club which is the subject of the vote must be informed before any communication is sent to League members and be provided a copy of the rationale behind why they have been recommended for removal.

The Club which is the subject of the vote must be invited to attend the meeting and provided the opportunity to speak in support of their continued membership.

The Club which is the subject of the vote is, however, excluded from voting.

Meeting Agenda

The Meeting should adopt the following agenda:

  1. Roll Call
  2. Reason for proposing their removal from the League
  3. Club/Team Response
  4. Questions via the Chair
  5. Vote

League Guidance

The Management Committee should only reference facts/disciplinary incidents which have been found proven and should not offer any further opinion. They cannot reference any cases which are currently under investigation or County FA disciplinary procedures.
