What is a Sine-Die Suspension?

Modified on Thu, 31 Aug 2023 at 04:48 PM

Sine die is an indefinite suspension from all football. There are three primary reasons why a sine die suspension may be imposed:

1. Non-payment of fines:

Sine die suspensions for non-payment of fines will be lifted once payment has been made.

2. Non-Compliance with Safeguarding Requirements:

This does NOT automatically mean the individual is subject to a safeguarding suspension.  The most common sine die suspensions for non-compliance with Safeguarding Requirements is where The FA have requested information from the individual which they have not provided.  The suspended individual will need to speak with The FA and provide the requested information in order for the suspension to be lifted.

3. Safeguarding Suspensions

In exceptional circumstances an individual may be issued with a permanent suspension from all football activities due to safeguarding reasons.
